Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Carbon : Lightest 14-Inch Ultrabook – Price

It has been the year of all major gadget releases till now, whether it be the mobile devices or the computers. So, how can we forget this leading players in the mainframe and personal computers, lenovo left behind. With the announcement of  Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Carbon, company is ready to dive into the pool of Ultrabook.

With the ThinkPad X1 Carbon, company aims to target the Notebook users with its super light weight and durability. Inside the carbon-fiber cabinet lies the all new Intel’s latest processor technology, the ‘Ivy Bridge‘ chipset.

With X1 Carbon weighing 1.36 KGs, Lenovo claims it to be the world’s lightest Ultrabook, with a 14″ display, and the thickness is 0.7″ at the most thickest point. Well with these dimensions we can actually believe for a while about it to be as a the world’s lightest Ultrabook. And its Carbon-Fiber covering, we can trust its durability as well, which can also withstand the common scratches and things that usually happen the travelling.

Along the tough physical features mentioned above, X1 Carbon would also come with a built-in 3G connectivity, though till now the carriers are not fixed world wide. As it’s aiming for the Notebook users, who basic requirement would be the a healthy battery back-up, will according to the dimensions we can guess something on that, but along with that, the company claims that the battery would resume its 80% of the charging in just 30 minutes, I guess this feature is optional.

A 14″ display of X1 Carbon has a high resolution of 1600 x 900 pixels, which can provide a descent viewing angle at the brightest resolution, which can bend to 180- degrees, though it cannot provide a tablet experience by bending whole 360- degrees but 180-degrees quite descent enough. The back-let keyboard and the vPro enterprise-manageability technology, it would surely be an center of attraction for the IT mangers.

Along with adding a new member to the Think-pad family, Lenovo also refreshes the whole range of  Thinkpads by introducing 7- new models ranging from the X230 “ultraportable” laptop to the X230t tablet to the ThinkPad W530 workstation, all the upcoming would come with Ivy Bridge processors as well as Lenovo’s Rapid Boot technology, which is said to reduce the boot time by 40%, this sounds quite impressive. And also the company has planned to offer 4G LTE connectivity on selected models.

This new Ultrabook is said to be launched in this summer itself, though there is no hint of the Price tag in the product.

    This actually looks pretty good. However, I’d be more tempted by the 13″ Macbook Air if I’m honest, it’s light, thin and portable and also uses the latest Ivy Bridge processors.
