How To Use Anyone’s Face As A Facebook Chat Emoticons

Most of the time most of use find it very difficult to know the other person is trying to say using the Facebook chat emoticons. Don’t know about others but I do face this problem many many times when my friends comment using different strange emoticons and ultimately i end up with asking them what they really wanted to say with that strange thing.

So here is a simple alternative how we can replace those strange and some weird looking thing with some familiar faces like our friends and some some things like cool for Cococola or a rich kid with Justen Bieber, you can use many such things not only these.

Here are the few easy steps how you can do this:

Step-1 :

Go to any profile, page or any group whose emoticon you want to use.

Step-2 :

Look at the url in the address bar. You can find the username or the profile ID something like “kunal.neeli” from https://www.facebook.com/kunal.neeli, or “teckillablog”, “MahindraXUV500″, “5597362282″ .

Step-3 :

Now put that username or profile id in the two square brackets like [[kunal.neeli]]

Step-4 :

Next is what, you just have to paste that in the Facebook chat or message text area. And when you hit enter and send it, whose ID number or the username that you gave that persons, page’s or the group’s profile picture will appear.

This Facebook chat emoticons can be send from web, phone, Facebook apps using the same steps but will only be displayed on the web. In the Facebook apps for mobile and smartphone this will only appear as some sting in double square brackets. Hope these will be available on them soon. You cannot use them for wall posts, comments, status updates as of now, we would like to see them on walls also soon. The images appear to be very small but you can hover onto the image to check whose profile it is. Community Pages, those that aren’t owned by anyone and that display a Wikipedia entry, can’t be used.

In some sense it wont look good, seeing other people using you as emoticons. So technically speaking it won’t violate privacy and there’s no way to opt out of having your face used, since username, profile pictures are public.

Up till now, Facebook was having only one custom smiley. The code :putnam: would show the face of Facebook engineer Chris Putnam. But now you can be the one.

Now instead of verbs, nouns, and adjectives you can use whoever represents them best. Some of the few Facebook chat emoticons that we could find are below. If you know any of them then you are most welcomed to leave the comment on the post.

The few Facebook chat emoticons evolved are:

  • Pirate – [[CaptainJackSparrow]]
  • Boyishness – [[JustinBieber]]
  • Santa Claus – [[TheMagicOfSantaClaus]]
