Android Market is now Google Play

Android Market is now the Google Play. Yes this Internet giant has changed its one of the most popular  mobile OS Android’s Market place to Google Play. It’s just not the change of mare name, it also clubbed the Google Music and Google eBookstore, under the single name Google Play.

Experts are saying that it is majorly the name that change, most of the sites functionality remains more or less the same. Google wants to break the limitations of the services that it provides, like users  may know that Google sells Android apps but they may be completely unaware of the service it provides with videos or books.

Company thinks that eventually putting everything under the same roof may help them in showcasing all the services equally and would grab new customers. It’s more less like the supermarket rather than a general store.

With Google Play, the company is trying to provide a more Cloud-like service where in you can search for one application on one Android device and then continue with that on the other Android enabled device. This service is much like the iCloud provides by its one of the biggest competitor Apple, in the mobile OS market, here you can open an app in one iDevice and continue to work on it in other iDevice. Best example is movies that you have downloaded and viewed on your computer ca also be viewed in you tablet or mobile if you are travelling.

Google also took care of  your online social life by synchronizing it with the social sharing into Google Play, with this you can share your favorite music that you have downloaded or the one you are currently listening, the the latest bestseller that you are currently reading.

The Android Market will be re-branded as the “Google Play Store,” and movies books, and music will be upgraded to Google Play Movies, Google Play Books and Google Play Music respectively. The change has already occurred to the Android Market online, and is set to roll out to Android devices (Froyo or higher) over the next few days.

As it is the beginning and to make this move more accessible Google is offering movies, books, albums, videos for rent and Android apps are been sold at discounted prices for rest of the week as part of a “7 days to Play” sale.

Do not forget to visit the Android app store and look if you can something for yourself and your Android really cheap.

I really like the new Google Play. I like how they have integrated and are trying to push their other services now. But, I can’t use most of them! Why? Well… I have a Rooted Android Captivate of course!

Its OK though I end up using Netflix or Amazon’s Kindle store for most of what Google Play has to offer.
